Copyright China

Copyright falls under the category of intellectual property in the United States and abroad. When attempting to get a copyright in China, you must be fully informed of the laws and procedural requirements. Works created by Chinese citizens, and legal entities or other organizations, are eligible for copyright even if they have not been published. The term "works" includes the following: written, oral, music, art, architecture, photographs, films, drawings, and computer software, among others. Copyright owners are considered to be those who have authored the work. This owner is granted the following rights in relation to his or her work: publication, authorship, alteration, integrity, reproduction, distribution, rental, exhibition, performance, showing, broadcast, communication, adaptation, and translation, among other things. The owner of the copyright has this right indefinitely. This is barely scratching the surface of copyright law in China. As you can see, this is dense already. When applying for copyright in a foreign country it would be prudent to enlist the services of an experienced attorney.
