Copyright Information

Many times, it can be difficult for the public to figure out what is copyrighted material and what is free to use without permission. That is why many organizations take it upon themselves to notify the public about their copyrights, most notably on their Web sites. With a Copyright Information page, or Copyright Notice, companies are able to make people aware of the material they have copyright protected. The public can also be informed about what material may be used, with or without permission. The Copyright Information page on Apple, Inc.'s Web site, for example, explains what a copyright is, how an individual may make an infringement claim with Apple, and procedures for requesting the rights to use certain Apple materials for various purposes. Global organizations may also find it useful to break down certain policies and procedures that apply to different nations, as rights and violations vary depending on country.
