Intellectual Property Right

As the owner of an intellectual property, you are granted particular rights. In the most general sense, you have accessed the exclusive rights to your work to prevent others from using your work as a method of economic gain or consumer confusion. The rights afforded to you, as the owner of copyrighted material is that of being able to reproduce your work, creative derivatives of it, distribute it, and otherwise display it in front of the public. Patents give an inventor the right to exclude others from making, using, selling, or importing his or her original creation. In addition, trademarks offer an individual or group the rights to a representation of a distinctive nature, which includes symbols, names, and logos, to create brand identity with a particular good or service and distinguish from other products within the same market.
