Patent Licensing

If you have invented an item, you are probably interested in patent licensing. You want to make sure that you can profit from your great idea. A good way to do so is by licensing your patent rights to an existing manufacturer. This way you don't have to worry about producing the invention. They do the hard work and you kick back and collect the royalties. You can attempt to license your invention once you have or have applied for a patent. You should start with a list of about 50 or more manufacturers who might be interested in what you have to offer. You can also use online databases to find companies that make similar products. A great one to start with is Thomas Register. Send the companies pitching your patent for licensing, follow up with them, and enlist an attorney's services to iron out any prospective deals you may be offered by a manufacturer.
